The Blooming Legacy of Treloar Roses in Portland Victoria

Just outside Portland Victoria, at the edge of the great ocean road, sits approx. 50 hectares of paddocks that are quilted together with a magnificent display of roses.

The Blooming Legacy of Treloar Roses: Treloar Roses a trusted name in the horticulture industry for more than 6 decades is now gearing up for a busy winter season, where they will see half a million plants sent out to their loyal wholesale and retail customers. Treloar’s was founded in the 1960’s by the late William ‘Ted’ Treloar, who made his start by selling roses from out of his fruit and vegetable shop. Soon after, it became obvious to Ted that there was a need for quality rose plants and newer varieties in this market.

From there it was decided that he would buy some land and start growing his own roses. This decision paid off and it has now become a family legacy that is still going strong today. The business is now owned and run by Teds grandsons Trent and Elton Treloar, who also show the same passion and drive that their grandfather and father had for roses. Something which has earnt this business a reputation worldwide for producing quality rose plants.

Treloar’s supports many Charities through their rose naming program. This includes the Graham Ross AM Rose, where $2 from every sale is donated to the Next Sense organisation, supporting children, adults and their family with hearing or vision loss. A Charity that Graham Ross and his family have been lifelong supporters.
