Jazz and music lovers everywhere came to Western Australia’s South West region for the 2016 Jazz by the Bay festival. In its fourth year, the event took place over the Western Australia Day long weekend. Local, national and international jazz musicians and celebrities performed in 15 different venues across the three days in and around the picturesque towns of Dunsborough, Busselton and Margaret River.

From jazz and soul to rhythm and blues, this celebration of music was perfect for locals and visitors to appreciate live entertainment as well as enjoy the magnificent beaches, celebrated wineries and gourmet food the region has to offer. The sensational line-up of performers included the Danny Moss Jr Trio, Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys, Bonnie Scott’s Jazz Duo, Catherine Summers, the Darling Buds of May and Victoria Newtown.

Apart from providing musicians and jazz enthusiasts with a great atmosphere of soul and funk, Jazz by the Bay also helps grow Western Australia’s regional areas into thriving communities with strong economies. The state government through Tourism WA’s Regional Event Scheme proudly supports the festival and Jazz by the Bay is one of many activities made possible by the Royalties for Regions initiative.
