ISABELLA MONRO LIKES TO CAPTURE CANDID SHOTS OF LIFE AND WORK ON THE LAND.

Ac Station Studies 29 2

Isabella Monro grew up in Sydney and after graduating high school wanted to get out of the city. So she and a friend applied for station work together. She was only planning on doing the one year but loved the work too much to not stick with it.

She’s now completed three years on cattle stations working as a ringer. Her first year was on the Barkly Tableland in the Northern Territory, the second was in the Gulf of Carpentaria in Queensland and her third was on the Pilbara coast in Western Australia.

“My dad is a photographer, so growing up he always had his camera on him and would give it to me to use for fun,” Isabella says. “I love taking photos, especially of experiences, travels and friends. Dad has taught me everything I know about photography but, other than that, I just take pictures of things that catch my eye. I had opportunities up north to take photos at rodeos and campdrafts and occasionally during work, which allowed me to capture station life.”
