The Royal Agricultural Foundation’s Rural Scholarship program is a driving force in regional development, with scholarships helping country youth achieve their career goals. Each year the Royal Agricultural Foundation awards scholarships to students who demonstrate exceptional passion and commitment to their studies and express a desire to contribute to rural communities. For the past two years Australian Country has partnered with the Foundation, contributing magazines and diaries to the RAS official showbag, the Ag Bag. Sold during the Sydney Royal Easter Show, all funds raised from the Ag Bag support the Rural Scholarship program.

Held during the Sydney Royal Easter Show at The Stables at the Sydney Showground at Olympic Park the Foundation lunch was a formal affair. The event, which featured Australian farmers’ finest pickings, gave the Australian Country team ample chance to become acquainted with the scholarship program. Listing teaching, engineering, veterinary science and even equine dentistry as potential careers, the sky is the limit for this year’s scholarship winners. A presentation concluded the celebration and the Australian Country team forfeited their heels for flats, and joined the crowds below to roam the Easter Show.
