For the April issue of Australian Country we’ve visited some of the most appealing properties we’ve seen in recent times. There’s an amazing home in a water tank from South Australia, plus a gracious old Queenslander from Emerald in central Queensland. We introduce some fascinating creative people as well. Sculptor Milynda Rogers works with barbed wire, Bruce Rosenberg has transformed a bare Southern Highlands paddock into a parkland and Dominic Romeo has breathed new life into Karori, one of Victoria’s heritage-listed hill stations. Our travel feature showcases spectacular land and seascapes (not to mention the fine food and wine) of the Great Southern region of Western Australia, we trace the making of the iconic Australian hat, the Akubra, from bunny to brow and stylist Sandra Hinton lays down her cards with a mad hatter’s tea party. Our service feature focuses on flooring, there’s loads of decorating inspiration plus a healthy dose of our trademark quirky component in every story.
