The shores of Sydney’s picturesque Balmoral Beach were transformed into a wine and food haven with the return of a much-loved pop-up feasting festival. Celebrating its 24th year, the Mudgee Wine & Food Festival at Balmoral Beach kicked off with a series of exciting new events adding to an already jam-packed program.

Mudgee7The perfect introduction to the Mudgee region ahead of its gastronomic annual event, the Mudgee Wine & Food Festival, was a delightful debut to foodie festivities held in Mudgee each September. Food stalls, wine tastings and a playful petting zoo were accompanied by the sweet melodies of Australian folk musician Matt Boylan-Smith. Sydneysiders gained a lesson in country hospitality, with producers sharing their tips and tricks of the trade in growing, harvesting and cooking fresh seasonal produce. Food and wine flowed aplenty at the VIP marquee event Graze Mudgee at Balmoral, a festival first introduced by Mudgee Region Tourism. Mudgee chef, caterer and food consultant Rachael McCarthy delivered a gourmet grazing menu with expertly matched wines.
